I was given the post of Purif I/C in my local Org in Canberra, Australia. This was very soon changed to "Temp purif I/C" by the Executive Director after I pointed out to him that this post, the Purification Rundown (TM) In Charge had several prerequisites that I did not meet, the most important being that I had not done the Purif myself. In the weeks I was on this hat, and the months after in AOSH ANZO, studying to be an Auditor, and to this day, I have never done the purif. Even tho the purif was also a prerequisite for "TR's and Objectives". This "hat" entailed that I take care of everything involved with the purification rundown. An amusing aside, is that all the vitamins were usually locked up in the same room that all Preclear folders were stored. After one incident on a weekend, were I didnt have the vitamins, there was no way into the locked room because the boss wasnt there, and the purifee was about to arrive. It was my post, so I went to a chemist and paid for some Niacin. The chemist was quite concerned, I recall, that the dose I intended to give was "very high". Anyway, the purifee only got the Niacin that day, and soon after I created a locked cabinet and stored the large jars of vitamins in that, out the back of the Org. It is still there to this day, with my padlock and hinges, which I wasnt reimbursed for. The best time I had in Scn was when I was taking a friendly person called Ralph through the purif. Once he found out that the required Sauna could be ANYWHERE in the ACT, we went to the the Hilton Hotel. It's a very high class place. Ralph and I got along very well, as I do with most people. He paid for my membership to the Hilton's Gym, he bought me lunch every day, he bought me goggles and things for the heated pool and spa. We discussed his adventures, and my [nieve] excited beliefs about Scientology. He was a very rich man, and told to his rapt listeners (me and his friend - who he also bought lunches, goggles, membership for) about the time he had "rented" the great Pyramid of Giza for a day and a night, to have all for himself. I loved that one, and I do not doubt it at all. The 5 hours or so each day were extremely relaxing for me, in comparison to the constant rush (work!! don't think!!) of other posts in scientology. I usually joined them in the Sauna, but there were times when I was outside soaking up sun, reading a novel while he was in the sauna cooking. After he finished, he took me and his good friend to dinner at the Hilton, as an expression of his grattitude of me. Damn, he was a good friend to have!! During a fabulous dinner, he said to me, perhaps you would like to try some of "the better wines"? I readily agreed, and asked him to choose one. He did not drink, because he was "on course" the next day. I forget the name of the wine, but it was the smoothest silky liquid I had ever damn had! He told me that one cost around $800 ($US 500) and it was only a tiny little bottle- about 400 ml. Well that was my most enjoyable experience, the interesting part is, it had very little to actually do with Co$ !! My worst experience in the cult. This one happened 2 days ago, over a year since i left, but I have not yet been declared an SP. (out-tech?) I went into the Org for a friday night briefing. This was, in my mind to say farewell to the whole lot of it, before I begin to picket the place, and enlighten the staff members with truths they do not know. I started having a chat to a new staff member, about the book he was reading, 'Out of Phaze' - Piers Anthony. I like S/F. Anyways, this young son of the Div 6 boss and the Ethics officer , aged about 8 leaned over the couch, in talkative children style. He wasnt getting our attention with his babble, so he started to read the book, which us 3 could all see. He was only able to pick out the smaller words, and 2 multi-sylable ones. 'is, a, the, move, we' I was shocked on the spot. I know I read Lord of The Rings before I went to High School, aged 11, this kid was virtually illiterate, and had 2 scientology parents, and had been in the org all the time I had been there. Now, I *may* be out on his age, he may be a little younger, but I do know a star student when I see one, and he wasn't one. I feel he has been seriously deprived of reality, and I can only blame the Church of Scientology for this. I do not blame his parents, for I can relate to their beliefs in the benefits of this so so called church. My amazed disgust with the truth about this organization, and the dissemination of the actual reality, has only just began. Thanks for listening.
