Mail-To-News-Contact: postmaster@nym.alias.net Mime-Version: 1.0 Newsgroups: alt.religion.scientology Someone, somewhere in the mists of time posted to a.r.s that the 1991 census showed 1091 Scientologists in Australia. And buggered if I can track down who the hell it was. I thought it was Frank Copeland, he thought it was *me*. I went to the State Library of Victoria last week to look it up. What do you know, it's not in the info in the library. I could of course pay $100 or so to the Australian Bureau of Statistics for the figure, but oddly enough I don't want to do that ... So: who posted it, and where did you look it up? The 1996 figure: someone posted anonymously that it was 1500. No source found as yet. If anyone can tell me where the figure comes from and where I can verify it, I'll be there. But so far the claim is looking like vapour and I'll be removing it from my Web page if I can't verify it. -- http://thingy.apana.org.au/~fun/ http://www.suburbia.net/~fun/ Stop JUNK EMAIL Boycott AMAZON.COM http://mickc.home.mindspring.com/index1.htm "You make your own dinner nauseous" - Handbag Deb's beasties Subject: Re: ars myths: Australian Census figures dammit.
